Stewardship Roles

Rather than recruiting broadly, we are currently inviting people into specific stewardship roles with clear boundaries and authority. These are not general help out roles, and they are not advisory-only. They are bounded trials in shared responsibility, designed to be safe to enter and safe to exit.
Tom currently leads most aspects, including business operations, sales, networking, admin, and app development, while Kibriya manages Notion systems and project coordination. Adrian has stepped back due to work and family commitments. Over the past two years I’ve rebuilt the app from the ground up with a modern, flexible codebase that has made development much smoother. We’re now ready for strategic leadership to deepen our impact and expand our reach in reconnecting communities through meaningful audio. Tom is also becoming a Dad in January so we need some help!

Working with the NHS to create audio experiences that support patient care and community wellbeing.

Real-Time Bus Tracking Poetry

Developing a feature that uses real-time bus tracking to deliver poetry and stories to commuters as they travel.

Wanders Subscriptions

Preparing to launch Wanders Subscriptions, a location-agnostic poetry experience encouraging people to take random walks and discover mindful, place-inspired audio anywhere.

How We'd Work Together

A part-time commitment to start (with the option of a trial run), a mix of paid work and equity, and the chance to help shape a mission-driven company doing something genuinely meaningful.
If a co-founder role isn’t possible, we’re also forming a board of trustees to provide strategic guidance and oversight. This would involve a lighter commitment, perhaps quarterly meetings, but would still allow you to play a key role in shaping our direction.

Stewardship Roles (Current Focus)

1. Continuity Steward

A role focused on organisational coherence over time.
This role exists to help OVERHEAR remember itself: surfacing insights, clarifying expectations, noticing drift early, and supporting recalibration when work isn’t getting done under current conditions.
This is not a creative or managerial role. It is about clarity, containment, and follow-through.
A 90-day paid trial container is available for this role.

2. Practice Steward

A role focused on the lived quality of a specific practice (e.g. Wanders).
This role exists to steward tone, pacing, and creative integrity – making decisions about what belongs, what doesn’t, and when iteration is needed.
It carries real creative authority within a clearly defined scope, without organisational or operational responsibility.
A separate 90-day paid trial container is available for this role.

What These Roles Are Not

These roles are not:
• general volunteering
• unpaid passion projects
• informal help without boundaries
• growth or marketing positions
• catch-all co-founder roles

They are designed to make care visible and authority explicit.

Time, Pay, and Commitment

Both roles begin with a 90-day paid trial

Typical commitment: 4-6 hours per week

The trial is a mutual experiment – not a probation

At the end of the trial, we consciously decide whether to continue, adjust, or close the role

Equity or long-term partnership is only discussed after a trial, if it genuinely makes sense.

• you are good at holding things steadily rather than pushing them fast
• you value clarity, restraint, and follow-through
• you have limited time but strong judgment
• you are drawn to the intersection of place, listening, and care
• you want to contribute meaningfully without burning out

You do not need sector-specific experience.
